My dear Vice-Minister,

with reference to my letters of the 3rd and 16th Kay, regarding the detention of the British ships "Lalita", "Dholera" and ""agreo" I am now informed that the owners of the "Sagres" will be willing to waive their claim for demurrage and other charges on the following conditions:

(1) That the vessel be delivered in Hong Kong

in good running order and seaworthy in every respect, with complete equipment as at the time of seizure, anything missing to be

replaced or paid for by the Japanese authori-

ties within three months of release.
